I walk into his dark room greeted by the brightest smile. He reaches his arms up for me and squeezes me when he finds my neck. I carry him into my room and lay him in my bed. As he waits for the cup of milk to reach his grasp his little lips start to suckle and smack in anticipation. He takes hold of the cup, excitedly takes his first sip, and then his arm opens up on my pillow to welcome me into his chest. I feel his little arm wrap tightly around my neck and we lay there together, wordless, and we take in the morning. Every morning.
