I wanted his first run to be memorable. One that he could reflect on years from now and it would still bring a smile. For maybe that smile will inspire him to keep moving, keep running, and know that I am always behind him, believing.
It was just that. It started off shakey but we kept pushing and as soon as we saw our first color the smiles came. Then the next one and the next. Before we knew it we were crossing the finish line.
He ran through the finish line with his hands in the air and looked back at me and smiled. Yes! Mission accomplished.
