We were all sitting on the porch listening to the rain fall against the tin. There was this slight moment of disappointment when the second I stepped out to do some yard work, the rain that threatened all day finally started to fall. Matt smiled and said, see today is your day to relax. even the rain is trying to tell you. So I listened. The almost fall like breeze blew by as we sat and chatted. It turned out to be just what I needed.
The boys seemed to enjoy it too. Jonathen came out and chatted with us for a bit and then retreated back in. Jackson picked the summer flowers and giggled when he wasn’t met with interjection. Then I looked over and found Jackson playing in the rain water.
He was sitting so still that I wondered what he was up to. It wasn’t until I grabbed my camera and changed my view that I realized he was waiting for the drips.
There is something about this moment that moves me. I am not even sure what it is yet. But for now I am content with his sweet ability to enjoy life’s little gifts. LIke rain dripping on his little foot.
