Some things you have to do without thinking too hard. Exercise is one of those things for me. I have to almost trick myself into putting my shoes on and getting out the door. There is almost always this moment, about half way into my hike, that I feel surprised to be where I am. “Hey, how did I get here…”, like a child dragged along.
But even though I still love a good hike. I am a natural girl, I would choose a woody trail over a track any day. I like how I feel connected. The hills are tall, climbing 212 feet twice from sea level, I have to push myself quite literally. Usually the stroller is way above my head, but I push harder. I love the symbolism. Life is hard and when it is at its hardest you just push harder. You will get through because for every uphill there is always a downhill to celebrate. And celebrate I do.
