Jack woke up chatting about every detail of the zoo we visited last weekend. EVERY detail. He was so excited and talked about all the animals that were there and just for kicks we would throw ones that weren’t to see if he was paying attention. Like, chicken, oh how he would giggle and say “noooooo, no chicken.” It wasn’t long before we realized another trip to the zoo was a must.
Only he didn’t stop talking about it! Matt went online and researced a zoo that was closer. Our goal being to find one less busy and a little closer to the house. There was one only 30 minutes from our door and so we decided to try it out.
It was perfect. Peaceful and the animals were all very close, so Jack could see them AND you got to feed all kinds of animals popcorn! Hence its name, The Popcorn Park.
The best part is that all of the animals have been rescued, so this zoo is truly a happy place. A place where your heart can know they are better and healthier than they were before.
They have bears, monkeys, tigers, and even CHICKENS! Jackson thought this was pretty funny.
It was so great to be able to watch the boys run and play and be boys and really enjoy the animals. I will say, Matt is most often the unsung hero of our family. It doesn’t get mentioned enough how great he is with our boys. He is the backbone of this operation, there is no doubt. Quite literally!
I am so thankful to have such a great place so close to us. I just know we will be spending many hours supporting this zoo and our smiles.
