Last week it was as if I watched Jackson embrace fear. I saw right before my eyes as he learned to hide from things, learned that a cuddle could make it feel better, or that he should be a little more careful. It was an amazing part of him to witness for the first time. This week he learned the art of laughter. He learned to fake laugh, which is a site for all to see. His little face strains with a smile as he pushes the laugh out and you cant help but giggle along. In fact, he will be watching your face to make sure your do just that. He also found his belly laugh. The deep, contagious explosion of joy. He used to hold back a little, but this week he learned how good it feels to let it out. His favorite book this week has been the five little monkeys. Read with a little finger animation and a silly voice and out squeals the belly laugh. There is not much in this world that can top that.
