You have been my little sous-chef. Everytime I go into the kitchen to cook you run behind me and ask, can I help? It has been wonderful. Last night we made chicken and corn chowder together and this morning we made pan-a-cakes. As you would say. You proudly told me, we need to mix the […]

This week there have been so many times that I have looked at my husband and said, where is Jon? So tonight when I couldn’t find him I grabbed my camera and went looking. I found him up in his room, door closed, headphones on, watching a minecraft video. Happy as could be. I remember […]

We haven’t left the house for almost a week. The artic winds have been howling and we have been hiding inside working on mastering the toilet! So today when the weather shifted and it was almost 60 degrees and there were puddles begging to be jumped in…we did it. I had no idea daddy was […]

Today is close to my heart. I found an old journal that had an interview with my boys about me when they were 8 and 16. They are now 13 and 20 so I was just so curious what the difference would be. One was a teenager last time and is now out in the […]

Matt has always loved to collect starbucks mugs during our travels. Only they just stopped making the classic mugs and we are so sad. So for his birthday I hunted down several of the places he has visited during his military career and bought him the classic mugs. Only I got a little crazy and […]

I have been reading a book this week that is life changing. It changes everything I ever thought I knew. It made the lightbulbs go off not only for me, but even for Jack. It is a must read for everyone. Really your life just won’t be the same without it. Everyone Poops is a […]
There is something about the way they look at you or that little giggle that gets you every time. That moment that tugs a little harder on your heartstrings. The moment that you tell yourself you are never going to forget. As a mother, I find refuge in the natural images of my children, images that bring me right back to that smile, giggle or moment.
Those images grow stronger as the years pass. At the moment the photo is taken I see it as it was. Years later and I am transported back to the moment and I feel like I can be right there again. I can even hear that little giggle that goes along with that look. To me that is the strongest investment I can make; being able to freeze time and return to it anytime I want.
I personally created Serena Nicole Studios with a mother's wish in mind. I wanted a custom photography experience to capture all of those natural looks, smiles and giggle that will transport YOU in time. Looks that are carefully crafted by a fluid and natural portrait experience that is child centered. My photographic style is very tender to encourage every one to feel comfortable so they can show me their style all their own.
I see your family as I would want to capture mine. Those looks between a mother and child, a finger wrapped tightly around yours. Candid expressions that showcase what makes your family unique and all your own. So that years later you can remember more than what you looked like but what you felt like too.
tell me about your family
I would love to get to know you too!
